About the Artist

Daniel Adams

Art. Story. Music.

Daniel Adams is a professional fine artist, storyteller, and songwriter whose creative work has reached admirers in 48 countries. Now based in Eldora, Iowa, he brings more than five decades of experience to a life devoted to creating—and helping others discover the joy of creativity.

The changing light of the Iowa landscape offers Daniel a continual source of inspiration. Sunlight, fog, gathering clouds, and quiet moments beside the water remind him that no view stays the same for long. His faith and gratitude for God’s creation shape the way he sees the world and deepen his desire to understand and protect its beauty.

Throughout his career, Daniel has earned hundreds of awards, including numerous Best of Show honors. His professional experience includes leading an art department for Walt Disney Productions, receiving Disney World’s “Idea of the Year” award, and serving as an art director for Metrovision Motion Picture Studios. He has drawn more than 200,000 people, taught a wide range of art techniques, and juried art exhibitions.

Among his notable accomplishments are designing Florida’s Challenger specialty license plate and the official flag of Orange County, Florida. The Challenger plate helped generate millions of dollars in support of the Astronauts Memorial at Kennedy Space Center. Daniel also received the Astronauts Memorial Foundation’s Ambassador’s Award, its highest honor.

A founding member of The Open Arts Alliance, Daniel has long believed in using creativity to serve others. His donated artwork and support of nonprofit fundraising efforts have helped raise more than $50 million.

His work has been exhibited at institutions including the Morse Gallery of Art at Rollins College, Georgia College, the Davidson County Museum, the Danville Museum of Fine Arts, the Orlando Museum of Art, and Valencia Community College. His artwork is also represented in historical museum collections and the Walt Disney Art Collection.

Today, Daniel welcomes visitors to Daniel Adams Fine Art Gallery in downtown Eldora, where his working studio offers a glimpse into the creative process.

His storytelling also continues through Adams Song Tree, bringing together his lifelong love of art, poetry, and music. His songs explore faith, childhood, small-town life, the Iowa heartland, and the people and places that make life meaningful.

Across every medium, Daniel hopes to create work that invites people to pause, feel, remember, and find joy.

“Go forth each day with creativity and positive thoughts and change your world.”

In the Artist’s Words

“I cannot remember a time when I wasn’t interested in creating art. When I was a child, my grandmother told me I was an artist. Perhaps that thoughtful moment changed my life—or perhaps it simply confirmed something I already knew. Thanks, Grandma.

“Creating is a lifelong exploration. There is always something more to discover, another technique to try, another way to capture the feeling of a moment. Behind the work are years of practice, study, and persistence. Yet sometimes everything comes together, and the painting seems to flow effortlessly. Those moments keep me searching.

“I paint what I love: the people, wildlife, landscapes, and stories around me. I hope something of the energy I feel while creating stays with the finished piece. When a visitor smiles, remembers someone they love, or finds a moment of peace in a painting, it reminds me why I do this.

“When choosing art, trust your own heart. Find something that speaks to you, and surround yourself with the art you love.”
